Japan Has Record Tourism in Early 2025

Asian tourism rebounds strongly in 2025, with Japan welcoming 10.5M visitors in Q1 and Bali surpassing pre-pandemic arrivals.
Bali's international visitor arrivals have rebounded to more than 6.33 million at the end of 2024. The Bali Hotels Association said arrivals in 2024 passed pre-pandemic numbers, with 2019 showing 6.27 million arrivals. When combined with domestic arrivals, the 2024 count rose to 16.45 million. Australia, India and Chinawere the three top inbound markets. CoStar said Bali hotels' average daily rate was US$233.79 in 2024, up more than 50% over 2019. While results were strong, even with yet another building moratorium in place, the new Governor killed the moratorium in January. That allows development to resume in popular resort areas such as Canggu, Uluwatu, Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, and Nusa Dua.
